Danny graduated in 1976 from Albert Sidney Johnston High School in Austin, Texas where he was involved in Marching Band and football. During his life time, Danny worked for the City of Austin, University of Texas, and Science Applications International Corporation – Las Vegas, NV.
He enlisted in the United States Navy directly out of high school. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk, CV-63 for four years anchored in San Diego, CA. He did two West Pac Tours which took him to Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore. His ship also sat in the Indian Ocean during the Iranian Crisis that led him to miss the birth of his first child.
Life changed for him in 1979 when he had his first of four children. He was a devoted family man and there was no doubt his family knew how much he loved them.
Music played a huge part in his life. He performed in the choir at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, and from a very young age he loved playing the guitar, whether it be bass or acoustic. In his later years he was briefly part of a band called Angel y Grupo Vimana.
Danny played an integral part in helping build the foundation of the Austin Tejano Music Coalition. He loved Tejano music and helped with all of the ATMC events. He was a part of Tejano Idol since inception. He loved helping his brother Frankie with his band events.
