Obituary of Lana Villarreal Jonse

Please share a memory of Lana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 21, 2017, our Lana strolled off with our Lord Jesus Christ.  She had her morning coffee in one hand, and the hand of our Lord in the other.  You see, an ethereal luncheon awaits her, filled with all of her favorite people and things-our Savior, Mary the Mother of God, the Angels and Saints, beloved and dearly missed family and friends, festive decor and a food selection that is out of this world.

I know what you're thinking, "Why weren't we invited?"

Well, I can only explain this is Lana's celebration, and although she'd love to have us there, our gatherings will be at later dates.  Rest assured, however, when our times come Lana will be there, helping plan the perfect welcoming event!

Lana Lynn Villarreal Jonse was born on a splendid fall day-November 29, 1961, in Austin, Texas.  She was a happy baby girl who constantly ran around smiling and laughing.  Her engaging smile and laughter never changed.  She was the first born child of Maria Elena and Joe R. Villarreal.

On December 20, 2008  she married the love of her life- Fernando Jonse, Jr.  He was God's promise to her, and she to him.  Together they shared the best things in life, like flipping through music both old and new, watching sci-fi movies at the foot of their bed, enjoying home cooked meals, luncheons with all their family and friends, and simply strolling through the countryside.  They worked beautifully together and as a team they operated their one of a kind bar in Hare, Texas called Fernando's Bar and Grill, with Lana's Cabana-a fun Tiki-like outdoor bar, hand built by Fernando, and named after his sweet bride.

Lana was fiercely compassionate and was unrelenting in her dedication to caring for all those around her.  She spent her career as a nurse, working in the Austin Area elementary schools.  She constantly poured her compassion and expertise into not only her patients, but into every member of her family.  She put her heart into caring for her Father and Mother, her Husband, her brothers and sisters, and all her darling nieces, nephews and friends.  She did so much for so many.

Lana is survived by her Husband, Fernando Jonse Jr. : Mother Maria Elena Gomez Villarreal; Father Joe Rosas Villarreal; brothers and sisters Joseph Villarreal and wife Leticia;  Jacob Villarreal and wife Ana; Jerrod, "Rusty" Villarreal; Kelly Sandoval and husband Alberto; Javier Villarreal; Natalia Murillo and husband David; Mike Gomez and wife Jeanette; in laws, nieces, nephews as well as many relatives, friends and neighbors who loved her and will miss her greatly.

Lana came into this world during her favorite fall season, and she departs this world in the fall and on the heels of a cold front.  She always said her favorite color was October.  October's hue  just became brighter.  Happy Halloween, Lana, and every festive-family-loving holiday in between here and eternity.  We'll be seeing you.  Save us a spot right next to you and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Raphael Villarreal, Jose Alberto Sandoval, Jake Ryan Villarreal, Giancarlo Sandoval, Jordan Sandoval, Brian Perlinger, Jr., Brandon Torres, and Thomas Jonse.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Alejandra Villarreal, Jenny Villarreal, and Ruben Sandoval.
