Obituary of Manuel Perez

Manuel Perez was called to be home with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 93.  Maria, his wife of 63 years, and his family were by his side.   He was preceded in death by his infants, Elizabeth and Amelia Perez; mother and father, Manuel and Placida Perez, Sr. and his 10 siblings, Lucio Perez, Juan Perez, Ruben Perez, Guadalupe Verver, Lorenza Castillo, Seferina Esquivel, Enriqueta Esquivel, Consuela Sanchez, Tomasa Perez, and Pomposa Perez.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a life-long farmer, and a retiree from Lacy Feed Plantation.  He passed a hardworking man doing what he loved and took pride-in; cutting his lawn.  His gentle nature, great sense of humor, and loving presence will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.  

Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Maria Perez; his six children, Carmen (Fidel) Franco, Jimmy (Lori) Perez, Freddie Perez, Rebecca “Becky” Perez, Albert (Linda) Perez, and Maria (Dane) Sullivan; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Nathan Redford, Andrew Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Alverto Perez, Dane Sullivan, and Fidel Franco.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 with a Prayer Service held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St.  A Scripture Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, Mission Funeral Home – East Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
