Obituary of Sipriana A. Rodriguez

Our beloved Sipriana A. Rodriguez, age 94, resident of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 7, 2017.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was born December 18, 1922 in Lockhart, Texas, and was the proud mother of 19 children.

Sipriana was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Casimiro Rodriguez; her parents, Juan Pablo Arredondo and Maria Alvarez; her children, Antonia Rodriguez, Andrea Selvera, Edward “Lalo” Rodriguez, and Pauline Martinez; her grandson, Joe Rangel, and two great grandsons, Daniel Javier Castro and Arthur Martinez, Jr. and her five sisters.

She is survived by her loving children, Benny Rodriguez and wife, Susie; Maria Rangel; Lupe Alba and husband, Ernest; Elida Deleon and husband, Tommy, Felipa Castro and husband, Danny; Casimiro Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Mitchi; Robert Rodriguez; Joe Rodriguez; Tommy Rodriguez; Rosemary Varela and husband, Jose; Margaret Zamora and husband, Andy; Susie Rodriguez; Peter Rodriguez; Patricia Rodriguez; and Rebecca “Becky” Rodriguez; son-in-law, Robert Martinez; 47 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren, and 34 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Casimiro Rodriguez, Jr., Robert Rodriguez, Joe Rodriguez, Tommy Rodriguez, Peter Rodriguez, and Robert Rodriguez, Jr.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Benny Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00, Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017, San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery
