Obituary of Johnny Adamez Martinez

Our beloved Johnny Adamez Martinez, age 87, resident of East Austin, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 30, 2017.  He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel H. Martinez and Adela Adamez; his sisters, Basciela Martinez, Modesta Martinez, and Julia Luna Martinez; his brother, Manuel Martinez; and his sister-in-law, Rosa Martinez.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jesusa Martinez; his children, Mary Ann Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Jr., Hope M. Vigil and her husband, Joseph Vigil, Susie Hisbrook and her husband, Freddie Hisbrook, Caroline Martinez, Linda M. Molina and her husband, David Molina, Jesse Martinez and his wife, Margaret Martinez, and James Martinez and his wife, Irene Martinez; his brothers, Robert Martinez and his wife, Mickie Martinez, Paul Martinez, and Chilo Martinez; his sisters, Sally Martinez, Patty Martinez, and Ville Martinez; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be James Martinez, Jesse Martinez, Robert Martinez, Freddy Hisbrook, David Molina, and Joseph Vigil.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017, Mission Funeral Home-East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.  Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Robert T. Martinez & 2nd St.,, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
