Obituary of Josephine Hernandez

Our Beloved Josie Hernandez, age 66, resident of Austin, Texas, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victoriano and Juanita Gonzales, Sr. and brother-in-law, Jesse Rivera.

Josie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Tony Hernandez; her beloved children, Elizabeth Gutierrez and husband, Javier, Margie Lizotte and husband, Omar, Rosalinda Hernandez, Antonio “Tony” Hernandez, Jr., and David Hernandez; her ten beloved grandchildren, Alina Gutierrez and Cesar Zendejas, Zachary Gutierrez, Isabella Gutierrez, Jacklyn Lizotte, Sarah Barragon, Gabriel Barragon, Justin Barragon, Rudy Barragan, and Brianna Hernandez; two precious great-grandchildren, Adelina Zendejas and Adrian Herrera; her brothers and sisters, Henrietta Flores, Natividad Rivera, Alfredo Gonzalez and wife, Mary Ellen, Victoriano Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Bertha, Angel Gonzales, Stella Gonzales and husband, Jesse Rendon, and Richard Gonzales and wife, Vickie.  In addition, Josie is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins,  and numerous other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be, Paul "Nick" Nava, Trini Flores, Chris Gonzales, Joshua Perez, Omar Lizotte, Cesar Zendejas, Rudy Barragan, and Robert Avila.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home – South Side, 6204 S. First St. Austin, Texas.  A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Mission Funeral Home – South Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
