Isaias G. Salinas, Sr. 82, born February 14, 1935 in Alamo, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lydia G. Salinas; daughter Annabell Marie Salinas; parents Encarnacion and Maria Salinas, Sr.; and brothers, Ismael Salinas, Sr., Ruben Salinas, and Encarnacion Salinas, Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughter Hilda Salinas, and husband Carlos, sons Isaias Salinas, Jr. and wife Mary, Rudy Salinas, Lee Roy Salinas and Molly, Daniel Salinas and wife Orbilia, all of Austin, Texas; Sammy Salinas and wife Guadalupe of Luling, Texas. Eleven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
He leaves brothers Doreteo Salinas of Austin, Texas, Jose Salinas, Sr. of Mexico, and sisters Rebecca Herrera, Maggie Hernandez, and Victoria Castro, all of Austin, Texas; and Basila Martinez of Alamo, Texas.
To his brothers and sisters, he was a protector, watching over them until the very end…always in his prayers and thoughts.
To his children, he was their protector and teacher. Teaching them to be strong, and how to stand on their own. He taught them to dust themselves off when they fall, and to keeps their eyes on God.
To his grandchildren, he was their protector, teacher, and super hero. He was strong and invincible. They looked up to him in awe and amazement.
To many, he was the pillar of the church. Laying praying hands on those in need, and never turning away the needy. He was a pioneer in the establishment of many church ministries.
But most of all, to his wife he was love. A loving husband and provider. He met Lydia as he drove by her on his tractor, and it was love at first sight. He was sixteen and she was fourteen, and still to this day, inseparable as they dance on the floors of Heaven.
After marrying Lydia, they had 7 children, and traveled around the United States working. Finally settling in Austin, Texas, where he built his company, I & S Trucking, with help of his children. After taking a step back and letting the children take over the company, he spent his time ranching and taking care of his cattle.
Isaias valued family, tradition, and most of all God. He will be greatly missed.
