Our beloved Jacob Anthony Davila, age 40, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas B. Davila; nephew, Joshua Davila; uncle, Benito M. Gandara; aunts, Irene M. Gandara and Lily G. Rios; and grandparents, Benito and Maria Gandara. Jacob is survived by his mother, Eva Marquez Gandara; his brother, Benjamin Davila and fiancée Chelsea Moore; four nieces, two nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews; his aunts, Janie G. Rivera, Minerva G. Lopez, Margie G. Rodriguez, Mary Helen Gandara, and Georgia G. Puente; and other loving family and friends. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of St. David’s South Austin, Satellite Dialysis, and the MHMR team of nurses and caregivers. A very special thanks to all of Jacob’s aunts for being pillars of strength and love for the family throughout his life. Pallbearers will be Peter G. Guerra, Jr., Ernest Schleyer, Daniel Salazar, Raymond Froster, Michael Chapa, Paul Chapa, Eddie Chapa, and Jesse Sanchez. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. A graveside service will be held at Elgin Latin Cemetery on Wednesday, February 22, at 11:00 a.m. on Ochoa St., in Elgin, Texas.
