Our beloved Mauricio Guerra, Jr., age 72, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mauricio Guerra, Sr. and Nacadia Deleon Martinez. Mr. Guerra proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, earning several medals to include the Purple Heart for his dedication during the Vietnam War.
Mauricio is survived by his sons, Joshua Guerra, Dominic Guerra, and Mark Morales; his granddaughter, Jostin Helena Guerra; his sisters, Georgia (Valde) Gomez, Connie Urtado, Angie (Sam) Guiterrez, Joanna (Manuel) Rodriguez, Mary (Jesse) Adams, and Teresa Guerra; his brothers, Guadalupe (Magalena) Guerra, Rick (Dolly) Guerra, Seferino Martinez, Mario (Maya) Martinez, and Norman Martinez; his step-father, Frank Martinez; the mother of his children, long-time companion and care provider, Alice Godoy Guerra; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2017 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 6:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017, Ft. Sam Houston Military Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
