Our Dearly Departed David Esparza Jr, age 62, of Austin, Texas, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, David Esparza Sr., and by his grandson, Albert Anguiano III. David is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Maria Alvarez Esparza; his loving children, Christine ( Albert Anguiano) Esparza, Jacqueline (James McNeal) Esparza, David Esparza III, and his wife Jessica, and Adrian (Denise Bera) Esparza; his beloved mother, Mary Hernandez Gonzalez; his precious grandchildren, Vanessa Anguiano, John Albert Anguiano, Brandon Cooks, Joshua Cooks, Miya McNeal, Dylan McNeal, DaVida McNeal, Taylor Esparza, and Jayda Esparza; his dear great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Trevino and Aleksander Currie; his loving brothers and sisters, Dora Esparza, Hope Rivera, Debbie Esparza, Amelia Garza, Jeanne Serrano, Mary Esther Esparza, Peter Esparza, and Jaime Esparza; his granddog, Zoe, as well as numerous other loving family and friends. David was the epitome of a family man. His family came first, no matter what. His beloved wife, Maria, was the love of his life, and meant the world to him. His grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, were his absolute pride and joy. David loved sports, and enjoyed watching his teams, the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and San Antonio Spurs play. You could always catch him wearing his cowboy boots, or playing his guitar. He was a very talented player…the best there was. He also enjoyed cooking his famous meatloaf, fried chicken wings, or doing a fish fry or barbeque for his family and friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Funeral Services to begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street, Austin, Texas.
