Our Beloved Angel Vasquez, age 81, of Austin, Texas, was called home by our Heavenly Father, on Sunday, January 14, 2017. Mr. Vasquez proudly served our country, retiring from the United States Air Force as a TSgt, in 1975. He obtained an Associate Degree in Criminal Law, prior to securing a position with the City of Austin Power Plant, where he also retired after a dedicated career. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Vasquez, in 2007; his parents, Secundino, and Delfina Vasquez; his brother, Paul Vasquez; and his sister, Inez Molinar. Angel is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Rose Vasquez; and his daughters, Diana Vasquez, Christine Vasquez, Angelita "Angie" Vasquez, and her husband Duff Stitt; and numerous other loving family and friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main St., Buda, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
