Obituary of Lucy Treviño Sauceda

Please share a memory of Lucy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our Beloved Lucy T. Sauceda, age 82, was called home by our Heavenly Father on November 27, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Lucy was born on October 3, 1934 in Red Rock, Texas. Lucy was the eldest of 11 children. She loved her siblings so much that said she would look after them while they slept. She remarried in 1986 to Louis Sauceda (deceased) whom she cared for when he was diagnosed with Cancer. She is currently married to Jesus Flores whom she has shared her love with for the past 17 years. She went to ACC and received certification in Nutrition; she was a very good cook. Lucy had stands at Fiesta Gardens and made Buenuelos, Menudo, Shish K-bobs , Agua Fresca long before it became popular. She worked at a daycare and a nursing home before retiring. She thought paying for a tow truck was frivolous. If possible, she'd fix her own car or tow it herself. She was an activist for civil rights and a member of the Montopolis Neigh. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2010. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Senovio and Blanche Trevino; sister, Terry Gamez; brother, Roy Treviño; and granddaughter Athena Covarrubias. Lucy is survived by her beloved husband of 17 years, Jesus Flores; children: Mike Rivera Jr., Daniel (Grace) Rivera, Phillip (Martha) Rivera III, Gloria Covarrubias, and Cynthia T. Rivera; siblings: Margaret Ramirez, Lillie Gallegos, Tommy Garza, Dolores Mercado, Mary Jane Vasquez, Dora Gina French, Joe L. Trevino, and Jesse Trevino; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lucy was an extraordinary woman who lived and loved life to its fullest. She loved music, singing and dancing. She was just an amazing person. God Bless you Mommy. Pallbearers will be Daniel Rivera, Phillip Rivera, Michael Dwayne Rivera, Joe David Rivera, Don Rivera, Surgess Santa Cruz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Rivera, Jr. and Jesse Trevino. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street, Austin, Texas 78745.
