Our Beloved Ray Botello, age 87, was born on September 7, 1929 in Kyle, Texas. He was called home by our Heavenly Father, on November 11, 2016, in Austin, Texas. Ray was the oldest in his family, and took responsibility for looking after his mother and siblings when his father passed.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Florencio and Romana Botello; his brother Joe; sisters, Nell Valigura and Estefana Castillo; and his son-in-law, Robert J. Villalobos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Luz Botello; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Maya Botello; his daughter, Ana Villalobos; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rosie Botello; daughter and son-in-law, Stella and John Saldaña; brother and sister-in-law, Trinidad and Vera Botello; brother and sister-in-law, David and Angelina Botello; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Antonio Guzman; and his sisters, Frances Flores and Janie Martinez; his 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, who he lovingly referred to as his “Quackies”; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. He is also survived by his beloved pet dogs, Daisy (dec'd), Hannah, and Candie.
Ray loved all animals, no matter the type! He worked at Glastron Boat Company, and retired from the City of Austin. He loved salt water fishing, helping family and friends, building cabinets and knick Knacks, and working in his and his children’s yards.
Above all, Ray was a devoted family man!
