Our beloved Mr. Narciso Gil, age 81, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 06, 2001. Narciso served his country honorable in WWII were he was commissioned in the battlefield of the Philippines as Sergeant and decorated with a bronze star. As a master Mason, he and his brothers help build Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Narciso was an active member of the community and his church. He received special recognition and was noted for his distinguished service in the many organizations he served in. Among these are awards for the Guadalupe Development Center, P.A.G.A. service award, active member of L.U.L.A.C., member of the society of the Catholic War Veterans, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Society, Loyal Order of the Moose, and founding member of the Guadalupe Neighborhood Association. Survivors include sons, Johnny Gil and wife Mary, Jesse Gil and wife Doralisa; grandchildren Michelle Ann Gil, Belinda Lynn Ellis, Suzette Caballero, John Gregg Gil, Xavier Gil, and Annette Gil; brothers Paul, Pete, and Otis Gil; sister, Julia Villarreal, all of Austin. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Gil was preceded in death by his wife Eugenia Gil in 1995, brother Simon Gil, and sister Sally Sanchez. Recitation of rosary Sunday, 7:30pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, 2pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Father William Elliott OMI will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are John Gregg Gil, Xavier, Ron, Arthur, and Michael Gil, and Edward Ramirez.
