Our beloved Mrs. Sulema B. Duarte, age 79, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 4, 2001. Survivors include beloved children, Rudy Martinez, Emily Paz, Johnny Ray Martinez of Dallas, Rosalinda Duarte, Baldemar ?Valde? Duarte, Alejandro ?Hondo? Duarte, and Diana Aguilar; sisters, Alice Sanchez of Dallas, Carolyn Brown, all of Austin. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Mr. Pilar Duarte in 1985,son Jesse Martinez, and brother Jesse Botello.
Recitation of rosary Friday, 7:30pm at the Mission Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, 3:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rev. William Elliott OMI will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Vincent Estrada III, Joseph Duarte, Joaquin Estrada, Alejandro Duarte Jr., Carlos Duarte, and Juan Luis Duarte. Honorary pallbearers Francisco Estrada, Israel Benavidez, Rudy Martinez Jr., Johnny Ray Martinez Jr., Theodore Barron, and David Sterling.
