Our beloved Helen Schrieber, age 82, of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 7, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Maria Villarreal; her granddaughter, Andrea Marquez; her grandsons, Richard Schrieber and Justin Bernard; and her brothers, Jesse Villarreal, Raymond Villarreal, and Bob Villarreal. Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, William “Willie” Schrieber; her loving children, Helen Jeanette Cortinas and husband, Alfred, Theresa Ann Marquez and husband, Andrew, William “Willie” Rodney Schrieber, Charleston Peter Schrieber and wife, Julie, and Sidney George Schrieber and wife, Selina; her sister, Rita Waller and husband, Bob; her brothers, Joe Villarreal and wife, Maggie, and Ben Villarreal and wife, Sharon; 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was the matriarch of our family. She could soar like an eagle above, strong and true, or float like an angel above you, soft, tender, caring. She is known for her baking skills, everything from birthday cakes for her grandchildren to wedding cakes. She loved giving of herself to her family. Helen shared many adventures with her husband, Willie. They enjoyed everything from minnow seining to classic car shows. Helen and Willie were very well rounded as a couple. It’s hard to say so much about such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed and forever remembered fondly. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
