Our Beloved Mary Esther Ruiz, age 79, of Austin, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Cleotilde Sifuentes; and her siblings, Frank Sifuentes, Robert Martinez, Tommy Martinez, Patsy Lujan, and Michael Martinez. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, George Ruiz; her children, Jesse M. Torres, Jr., Cecilia Pimentel and her husband, David, Susan Torres, and Thomas B. Torres and his wife, Becky; 10 beloved grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Ben Sifuentes, Carmen Shepard, Janie Cardenaz, Jesse Martinez, Nash Martinez, Sam Martinez, and Lupe Rosales. Mary Esther was the matriarch of family and devoted her life to her husband, children and siblings. She spent countless hours in volunteer service with the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, The St. Bridgette’s Parish Guadalupanas, and San Jose Parish Finance Committee. Mary Esther enjoyed the company of her lifelong friends of 50+ years with a weekly Poker Club and Bunco. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
