Our beloved Federico "Popo" Tanguma, age 83, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 9, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Federico Tanguma, Sr. and Virginia Martinez Tanguma; and nine brothers and sisters. Mr. Tanguma is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Victoria Q. Tanguma; his son, Federico “Freddy” Tanguma III; two beloved grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Tanguma and Kristen (Jeremiah) Tanguma Sarate; eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jonas, Alyssa, Jeremiah, Gwyneth, Madelyn, Logan, and Xavier, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Margie, Rosa, and Carlos for all they have done throughout the years. It is always appreciated and will never be forgotten. Pallbearers will be Michael Tanguma, Gabriel Tanguma, Jeremiah Sarate, Manuel Quintero, Frank Martinez, and Andrew Fuentes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos Rocha, Lupe Portillo, Jesse Castro, and Joe Islas. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 13 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Robert T. Martinez and 2nd St. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
