Our beloved Cruz Rodriguez, Sr., age 84, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 30, 2016. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and their love. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Janie Rodriguez and his parents, Gabino and Cirilda Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his beloved children, Elvira Ledesma (widow), Irene (Domitilo, Sr.) Ponce, Virginia Rodriguez Guerrero, Cruz Rodriguez, Jr., Fermina (Richard) Amaro, Julio (Dolores) Rodriguez, Alice (Alfred) Buentello, Isidro Rodriguez, Gloria (Roy Norgan) Rodriguez, Rudy Cruz (Nicole Renee) Rodriguez, and Anthony (Chelsea Brewer) Rodriguez, his sisters, Frances Villiamontez, Mary Martinez, Jose Arocha, Rosie Huitron, and Beatrice Pineda, 34 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Cruz was the owner and operator of Rodriguez Steel Tying prior to his retirement. He was dedicated to his family and his faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and his community. Pallbearers will be Cruz Rodriguez, Jr., Julio Rodriguez, Sr., Isidro Rodriguez, Anthony Rodriguez, Domitilo Ponce Sr., and Alfred Buentello. Honorary Pallbearer will be Rudy Cruz Rodriguez. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016, and at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, Mission Funeral Home (East), 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas. Recitation of Holy Rosary will be Monday, 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home (East). Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
