Our beloved Rosemary (Gullo) Leake, age 81, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Ann Gullo; her brother, Joseph S. Gullo, and her grandson, Luke Olin Paulson.
She is survived by her dear friend, Richard Jeffrey Leake; their 5 children, Kathryn Ann (Tom) Osborne, Richard Leake, George Leake, Joseph Leake, and Maria (Mark) ViPond. Eight grandchildren, David Lee Paulson, Courtney (Chris) Paulson-Hunter, Sage Masten-Leake, Teal Masten-Leake, Brian ViPond, Ashley ViPond, and Sarah ViPond. Three great grandchildren, Thomas Billheimer, Gabrielle Billheimer, and Ruby Lee Hunter. And many other family and friends.
Rosemary was born in Pittsburgh PA on April 2, 1935. She attended Westview High School where she met the love of her life, Richard (Jeff) Leake. They were married on November 19th 1955 and eventually settled in South Bend, Indiana where Jeff took a job at Notre Dame University after finishing graduate school. Mom was a retiree from Notre Dame as well and enjoyed watching all their games. Later Mom moved to Austin Texas to be closer to her family and made some amazing friends here. She volunteered and was a part-time employee for Faded Blue Jeans Ministries (http://fadedbluejeans.org/) where she served well and had some amazing friendships from her time there.
Our mother loved well. She was always kind and considerate to others. She was a giving and caring person, always doting on her children and grandchildren. Mom found much strength and wisdom from her rock solid faith in God. She attended Impact Family Church for many years.
She will be missed here but we know she is in a better place now, home with God.
