May 25, 1946 – May 23, 2016
Our beloved Victor “Vic” U. Chavez, age 69, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 23, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Chavez, Sr. and Genoveva Ursua and his sister, Maria Diaz.
Mr. Chavez is survived by his loving children, Dario Chavez, Gloria (Lucio) Chavez Jaramillo, Jo Ann Chavez, Mary Elizabeth “Lisa” Chavez, Victor L. Chavez, and Robert Benjamin Chavez and their mother, Maria Lopez; his brothers, Phillip (Francis) Chavez, Jr. and Tony (Minerva) Chavez; his sisters, Linda Chavez Thompson, Marty Alvarado, Janie (Jose) Cervantez, and Amy Chavez; 29 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ismael Valadez, Gabriel Merino, Arturo Jaramillo, David Chavez, Matthew Ramirez, Israel Machado, Joe Angel Estrada and Manuel Ramirez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Erik Chavez and Jennifer De La Fuente.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
