Our beloved Diana Jeanette Herrera Castañeda, age 64, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Joe and Ninfa Herrera; her aunt, Consuelo Mendez and uncle, Patricio Mendez. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Castañeda; her beloved children, Jimmy (Toni) Castañeda, Rigo (fiance, Savannah) Castañeda, Dianna Castañeda, Lauralei (Brian) Kufrin, Rosanna (John) Cervantes; nine treasured grandchildren, Zion Castañeda, Ezra Castañeda, Zariah Castañeda, Isaac Castañeda, Jocelyn Ortiz, Julia Castañeda, Brandon Hoballah, Jaeda Cervantes, and Jeanna Cervantes; her brother, Edward Herrera, Jr.; her sisters, Sylvia Garza, Virginia Garcia, and Consuelo Herrera, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, IH 35 and Ben White Blvd, Austin, Texas. An article dedicated to Mrs. Castaneda will be published in the May 22, Sunday edition of the Austin American Statesman.
