Our beloved Rene “Ronnie” Briones, age 56, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Briones and Maria Cruz Mendoza and his brother, Jimmy Briones and sister, Bertha Briones. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Elma Arriaga-Briones; his beloved children, Kimberly (Adam) Solis, Valerie (Adam Medrano) Briones, Brittney Briones, Adam Briones, and Thomas Jay Briones; four grandchildren, Mason Briones, Joaquin Solis, Reese Medrano, and Jayden Solis; his brothers and sisters, Betty (Enrique Gonzales, dec'd), Robert (Connie) Briones, Fred (Toni) Briones, Alex Briones, Mario Briones, Rose Briones, Jeannie Briones, Raymond Briones, Julian Aguilar, Marcelino Aguilar, and Jesse Aguilar, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Albert Diaz, Albert Macias, Arthur Ramirez, Hector Martinez, Mario Briones, and Richard Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam Medrano and Adam Solis. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Robert T. Martinez St. and 2nd St., Austin, Texas. Family is requesting everyone please meet at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Wednesday morning for Mass. There will be no chapel time at the funeral home Wednesday morning.
