Obituary of Pedro Rodriguez Magallanez, Jr.

Our beloved Pedro “Pete” R. Magallanez, Jr., age 78, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 8, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Garcia Magallanez and Santos Rodriguez; his son, Paul Magallanez; his siblings, Elias Magallanez, Frances Palacios, and Manuel Magallanez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Zapata Magallanez; his children, Sue Alyn Carrasco, Debbie Townley, Peter Magallanez, Mary Lou (Jose) Delgado, Yolanda (Jesus) Carrillo, Joe Michael (Mary Frances) Nunez, Joanna (John Michael) Ontiveros, Patricia (Lee) Hernandez, Roger (Tiffany) Calvillo, Eric Shane Nunez and Joseph Nunez; his brothers, Joe (Linda), Alfredo (Sophia), and Gregory (Helen) Magallanez; his sister, Martha (Tom) Diaz; 17 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 with a Rosary Prayer Service held at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
