Mrs. Ofelia R. Carrizales, 83, passed away peacefully in her home, as she wished, lovingly surrounded by her family on April 4, 2016. She was the devoted wife of John M. Carrizales. They shared 61 years together. Born in Buda, Texas to Bonefacio and Luz Rodriguez. She was the sixth child born of twelve siblings. She was diagnosed with cancer in November 2012, but cancer never defined her. Armored by her faith in God, she fought with admirable courage, strength and perseverance to her last day. She took great pride in her family. The love for her family is what she lived for. She lived a life well loved by so many, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband John, daughters/sons: Susan, Diana, Grace (Daniel), Roy (Nancy), Iris (Gilbert), 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 sister: Abigail Moreno, brothers: Frank, Ismael and Adolf Rodriguez. Preceded in death by her son: Joe, 2 sisters, 5 brothers. Services will be at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, on Sunday, April 10, 2016, 4:00 p.m. public viewing, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
