Obituary of Blas M. Tenorio

Blas M. Tenorio, resident of Kyle, was received into the hands of our Heavenly Father on December 23, 2015 at the age of 91. Born September 9, 1924 in Kyle, Texas, he was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He is preceded in death by his loving wife: Manuela Tenorio, parents: Roberto & Cayentana Tenorio, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Blas honored his family and country serving the United States Army during WWII Europe under Patton. Blas was one of Kyle's favorite sons. He was well known for being straight forward and getting things done. He was the first Hispanic elected to the Kyle City Council where he served for 11 years was also on the TEC Board of Directors for 35 years. He was also a member of the VFW Chapter in Kyle and was a Life Long member of St. Anthony de Claret Catholic Church. He and his brother Sam ran Tenorio's Grocery for many years. Blas was a family man most of all. His Children meant a lot to him, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren even more. Between that, his family, his laughter and warmth, we're happy to have had Blas for as long as we did and we miss him dearly, but not forgotten in our hearts. Survivors are his sons: Gilbert Tenorio of Kyle, Gerald Tenorio of Round Rock, daughters: Olga & Ofelia Tenorio both of Kyle, grandchildren: Tammy Boddy and Troy of Kyle, Lisa Tenorio of Dallas, Crystal Schaeffer & Joe of San Marcos, Celina Tenorio of Austin, and great grandchildren: Matthews Boddy, and Logan & Evan Schafeffer, with numerous neices, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will begin on Monday, December 28th, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Los Angeles Funeral Home at 300 Cheatham Street, with Recitation of Rosary will be Monday evening at 7:30 pm at Los Angeles Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle, Rev. Father Jason Bonifazi will officiate. Interment will be a Memory Lawn Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. Serving as Pallbearers: Roy, Sam Jr., and Robert Tenorio, Manuel Fuentes Jr, Alex Gamez, and David Gonzales. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Abel Tenorio, Jorge Escudero, Armando Chapa, Diego Cortez, and (late) Bernie Arrequin.
