Our beloved Maria “Amparo” Duarte, age 90, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Santiago Duarte; her parents, Pancho and Clarita Hernandez; her daughter, Leticia McGee and one great grandchild, Nevaeh Amaro. Maria is survived by her loving children, Santiago “Jimmy” Duarte, Jr. and his wife, Lupe Zamora-Duarte, Alma Champagne, Elva Lara, and granddaughter, raised as a daughter, Monica Santellana; 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; her brother, Lencho Hernandez and his wife, Maggie; and Concha Hernandez, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
