Daniel worked with a bunch of people who were in the business of helping others and he was no exception. When our computers, phones, or copiers went down Daniel was always ready and available to save the day. He not only did it with a smile but he made it look effortlessly. He gave tirelessly to CoR but he never put technology before relationships. One thing I have learned about him since his passing is that I was not his closest friend at work. Daniel made everyone feel equally as important as the next person. He always sat down to see how you were no matter how heavy his workload was. He is the reason my husband Daniel bought the make and model of new car that we did and the reason I found inexpensive replacement parts for my other car. Daniel took the time to share his vast wealth of knowledge far beyond IT.
As for me, he is the only person I know who ever loved my birth date just as much as me and every April 22nd I will miss him asking how I was going to spend "our" birthday. He loved his wife so much, and talked lovingly about all his children...those born through him and those born in his heart. Thank you God for allowing our paths to cross. My deepest, deepest condolences for your loss.

My condolences to the loved ones of my nephew Daniel. It has been awhile since I last visited with him–it was in his younger years. He was a smiling young man. Intelligent and eagerly seeking a future. Much of that journey was completed. I pray for Daniel and for those who loved him and for those he loved.

The lost light of Daniel's spirit has left a dull ache here at the Council on Recovery (formerly Austin Recovery)! Daniel interacted with everyone who works or ever worked here and his interactions were experienced more as a salvation than a fix to an irritation with technology! He was the glue that held so many things together. He was quiet however, his smile said so much. It hurts my heart that the world is losing such a great man at such a young age! The news of his passing was unbelievable and still is sadly. My heart felt condolences go out to all of his family and close friends because I know a huge hole has opened in their lifes with this unexpected loss.
May you find comfort in your loving memories built with Daniel over the years.
God Bless

Daniel was such a gentle, generous and giving man. A trusted colleague, a man of great skill and authentic compassion and caring for those in need. I cannot count the ways in which Daniel has touched me and others, finding surprising and unexpected ways to be helpful and supportive, speaking out on behalf of those who might otherwise not be heard, and finding solutions to the thorniest of problems. Daniel, we will sorely miss you. May you find peace in wherever your journey will take you. My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. May God bless you.

Sorry for the length, but sometimes you only get that one shot to say it just the way you want.
From the realm of non-existence we form into a collection of carbon and chemicals, formed into the balance of existence, we inhale and we exhale and move toward a relationship with that exists, and each breath leads to an existence that seeks and becomes more than parts but the essence of spirituality. We are given a time line, or maybe even more clumsy to say and expiration date, that is beyond are capability to understand who or why or when. In that time line we exercise free will, we collide like atoms into others, and we create chemical reactions, and creating little worlds of existence that we never fully understand. In time we become a collection of experiences and memories. We each play the lottery that some of use win with the people we meet and others miss the opportunity to meet some people who are truly special. It is an even larger jackpot, that certain people we meet, they give us more of who they are.
I was one of the lucky ones. I knew Daniel for about four years and it was the last year and a half that I got to know him significantly better. I found out that the Daniel I knew was a man of impeccable character. He would listen when needed, he would solve the problems when needed, and he'd make you laugh anytime you stayed long enough to listen. I must admit, I am amazed by the impact I have felt since I heard the news. The selfish side so strong that all I can think of is how unfair it is that I wont ever get to talk to him again, despite the fact that he would have made himself available anytime. He was a stalwart, he was there when ever the bat light was lit, utility belt and second to none knowledge of all things technological. He was as close to excellence as anyone I have ever known in his profession. In my darkest time, I had few people with spine to stand with me, and to not just be a yes man, but Daniel did. He always told the truth. I can't express enough thanks, I just wish I'd have said it to him.I have since learned that their are others who he stood for. The journey of co-worker to friend, especially in an environment where being right was less important than being compliant was a tough one and it is also a title that a rarely give, but Daniel was my friend. His personality was infectious and his concern for other was enviable. I wish I could tell you, you are my friend, I'll miss you, but through you, I will learn to say that to others when I have the opportunities. You also gave me so many memories, but none more than that one movie we talked about, where a guy had to show some people how to run a certain program, as he was getting in he remarked that he was going to show them how to do things something that he called "the right way." Daniel you showed many how to do many things the "right way." And the time I got to spend working with the insufferable carelogic, I will never forget.
To your family, I am sorry that I never met you, though in many ways I feel that I had, He was so proud of his family. I know no one can understand the unique pain that you feel through his passing, But I thank you for being a part of who Daniel was, and I hope through the pain you see the gift that the times you spent, and the memories you made are why it hurts, and that those reflections will serve to soften the wounds until you meet again. I pray that God blesses your family and that whatever solace there is, you find it.
