I met Jonah through marching band, he was a senior when I was a freshman in the saxophone section. He had a different way of communicating with each and every person that really made you feel special. He would crack jokes during band class or on the marching field. If I was walking to class or waiting outside of school he would always come to keep me company, ask about what was going on and just put a smile on my face. Though he was sarcastic and funny it was in the most loving way and could change your mood in an instant. Remembering the countless jokes he told, music that was played, stories he may have made up, and the true love for life he always had all put such a smile on my face. Jonah was such a fun guy and a great friend, and I cant wait to see him again some day.

I had the pleasure of seeing Jonah on many occasions at Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock. He always had a smile on his face! He was always polite, courteous, and made sure his customers were very well taken care of. He will certainly be missed! My deepest sympathy to Jonah's family and friends.

I was Jonah's seventh-grade Language Arts teacher at Murchison. He was a terrific young man whose sense of humor always made me laugh. He visited my class one day after finals, just to say hi and to tell my students they should listen to me. I saw him this past summer at Alamo Drafthouse--what are the odds that he was our server? It was great to see him again, all grown up and responsible. In hindsight, I'm really glad I went to the movies that day. I cannot express my sadness enough--especially to June and Diego, and Kara--all former students. Jonah's loss is tragic, immense. My thoughts are with you all.

I cherish the wonderful experience of having Jonah in my class at Anderson. I truly loved Jonah's unique perspective, great humor, deep sensitivity, and total honesty--all of which he brought to his work and relationships. The experience of teaching not only Jonah, but also June, Gabriel, and Jessica, has made my life's work more rewarding. My heart goes out to you and the whole family; my love and thoughts are with you as you grieve his loss.

I learned of Jonah's death today. He was a beautiful soul. I met him several times since he is my neice Kara's boyfriend. Their love was something wonderful to behold. Inseparable soulmates. I miss him already. I burst out crying when I realized this was real. I expected to see him married and having babies with Kara after their college degrees were finished. The future has gone awry. The loss of Jonah is felt by everyone who met him. His warmth and depth and intelligence were gifts he gave us all. I see him smiling every time I think of him. When Kara was in Europe with her dad Jonah joined my husband and I and my son Dash, Kathleen, Nick, and Ryan for an adventure. We went to the bridges with bats in Austin and had BBQ at County Line. I got to know Jonah the most that day and his depth of commitment and future he saw with Kara. I admired his work ethic and devotion to getting a college education. Yeah I grilled that young kid and he passed with flying colors. We had a lot of fun that day. He was such a gentleman helping with my son's stroller and a gentle man playing with my 3 year old. He talked about his family. His mom and dad were hard workers and great chefs. He was very proud of them and loved to eat at home. I remember on another visit Kara and Jonah baked a pie one day and a cake another day. They just did everything together. Jonah wanted to go to college wherever Kara went to college. He said even if she transferred to a more expensive college that he would go there. He did not want to be away from her at any cost. He valued his time with her clearly. Smart young man... taken by the angels much too soon.

Although I didn't know Jonah that well, he still managed to put a smile on my face every time I talked to him. Working with him at Regal Cinemas was always a pleasure. He will be deeply missed.
