Our beloved Manuel Serrano, Sr., age 85, resident of Austin; raised in Kyle, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Mr. Serrano was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Elvira Serrano. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Cecilia Serrano; his six children, Rose Marie Gonzales, Joe L. (fiancé Rosie) Serrano, Beatrice (Robert) Estrada, Susan Ann (Jose) Saldivar, Christine Serrano, and Manuel “Manny” (Christine R.) Serrano, Jr.; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; in addition, numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Mr. Serrano will be missed dearly by his family and everyone who knew him. His family will forever carry on the legendary “SERRANO” name and hold it dear to their hearts. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 with recitation of Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street (East). Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Friday at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery St., Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery with Military honors.
