Our beloved Maria Jurado, age 89, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 1, 2015.
Mrs. Jurado is survived by her loving children, Herminia Manchaca, Jess Jurado, Rosa Haros (Roy), Gloria Chavez (Miguel), Elvira Jurado, Gilbert Jurado, Lucia Martinez (Gonzalo), Joe Jurado (Juana), Mary Rodriguez (Ernest), and Steve Jurado (Rachel). Mrs. Jurado also leaves to mourn her passing 51 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren, 51 great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Valverde Jurado and her parents Leonardo Castro and Mercedes Zapata. Mrs. Jurado is also proudly preceded in death by one son, Elias Jurado, killed in action during the Vietnam War.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 with Prayer Service held at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street (East).
Christian Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. at Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
