Our beloved Vera Gonzales Almanza, age 80, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Ms. Almanza is survived by her loving children, Janie (Armando) Ruiz, John (Rosa) Estrada, Sylvia (Edward) Guevara, and Frank Estrada Jr., her siblings, Mary (Onesimo) Maldonado, Carrie Aleman, Sally Salazar, Joe (Rosie) Gonzales, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frank and Maria Ester Rendon Gonzales, two children, Edward and Roy Michael Estrada, siblings, Frank Gonzales, Sara Aleman, Edward Gonzales, and Lupe Sifuentes. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Tia Cuca and Tio Onesimo for the daily calls, love, and encouragement as well as Frank Estrada Sr. and Sonia Trejo for their continued commitment and support in caring for Vera. In addition, the family thanks South Austin Dialysis Satellite. She was a Christian by Faith who enjoyed worshiping the Lord Jesus. She was loved by all her family and friends who will deeply miss her; she kept the “Loving Torch” of Jesus burning in the family. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 with eulogy throughout the evening, Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street (East). Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street (East). Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
