Obituary of Virginia Soto Hernandez

Our beloved Virginia Soto Hernandez, age 72, resident of Austin, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 2, 2015. Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Hernandez; Roy “Raul” Martinez; her father, Manuel Soto, and three brothers, Manuel “Lefty”, Santiago “Jimbo”, and Edward Soto. She is survived by her mother, Consuelo Buitron; her loving children Roy Martinez II, Sandra (Martin) Martinez-Cerda, Diana Prince, and Robert Martinez; her sister, Gloria Soto Villeda, her brother, John Saldana; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Finkey, Vanessa Fernandez, and Eric Cerda; 4 great grandchildren, Arianna Spielman, Natalie Spielman, Ethan Cerda, and Isabella Spielman; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Honored pallbearers will be Ryan Finkey, Eric Cerda, Martin Cerda, Robert Martinez, Frank Castenda, Edward Cummings, Brian Watson, and Roger Spielman. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Survey goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23 Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
