Benito Flores, Jr., resident of San Marcos, was received in the hands of our Heavenly Father on September 21, 2015 at the age of 75. Born October 18, 1939 in San Marcos, he was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Benito Sr. and Carmen Flores, brother, Ricardo O. Flores, and sister, Mary F. Ramirez. Benito answered the call when his country needed him the most, serving the United States Navy. He was a proud American. Later, honoring his country and family, he served his community with the City of San Marcos in the Parks and Recreation Department, retiring after more than 25 years. Benito was kind and generous. He was loved and adored by his nephews and nieces. A treasured and loyal friend to many, Benito will be dearly missed and always thought of. Survivors are sisters, Guadalupe Flores of Martindale, Texas, Elizabeth F. Salazar and her husband, Samuel, of San Marcos, Texas, and Victoria O. Cavazos and her husband, Terry, of Austin, Texas.; beloved niece, Jenny V. Mata of San Marcos, Texas, and many additional nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends. Visitation will begin on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 6:00 -9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St., San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church. Rev. Father Wade Russell will officiate. Interment will be Friday, October 16, 2015 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 1:00 p.m. with full Military Honors.
