Bernabe "Ben" Sustaita Medrano Jr., 72, resident of Bastrop, TX, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First Street (SOUTH).
Recitation of Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702, with Friar Florencio Rodriguez, TOR, officiating.
Burial will follow to Assumption Cemetery, Austin, TX
Bernabe "Ben" Sustaita Medrano Jr., 72, resident of Bastrop, TX, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
He was born on July 19, 1943 to Bernabe Lopez Medrano Sr. and Nicolasa Sustaita Medrano. Mr. Medrano worked hard to provide for his family, working at Lithoprints for over 25 years, and then working for the State of Texas in the print department for 5 years. He served his country by serving in the Army National Guard, and receiving an honorable discharge.
Bernabe met the love of his life while in High School, marrying his High School sweetheart, Linda Delgado Medrano. Together they raised 3 children in Austin.
Mr. Medrano is preceded in death by his parents; Bernabe Lopez Medrano, Sr. and Nicolasa Sustaita Medrano. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda D. Medrano, 3 children; Maria Theresa Medrano Briceño(Eladio), Ben D. Medrano, Marrissa Medrano Gomez(Anthony), 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild(Ben Isaac Medrano), 7 siblings; Julia Medrano Alicea and husband Andres, Antonio Medrano, Jose Medrano and wife Yolanda, Jesus Medrano, Eva Medrano Lugo, Roberto Medrano and wife Rosalinda, Maria "Mary" Medrano Jennings and husband Rod, along with several nieces and nephews. Family wishes to express gratitude to all the staff involved at Seton Hospital and his physicians, Dr. Azim Shekarchi and Dr. Rene Castillo.
