Julia O’Conner, 70, was born July 1, 1945 in Austin, Texas to Joe and Leonora Pacheco. Julia passed away peacefully on August 16, 2015 after a short illness surrounded by family and friends. Julia graduated from Nixon-Clay Business College and worked in the family-owned restaurant business, San Jacinto Inn Restaurant, where she helped manage it. Julia believed in and practiced a strong work ethic. She was kind, loving, and protective of her family. She will be missed. Julia also worked as a Middle School substitute teacher for the Manor School District as a Custodial Supervisor for the Travis State School. She loved the color red. She liked fast cars. In her younger years, Julia won a first place trophy in a “Powder Puff” class race competition at the local Speed-O-Rama track. Julia was strong-willed and determined. Her Faith in the Lord grew stronger and stronger through the years. She instilled in her family a firm foundation in The Golden Rule, respect for others, an appreciation of family, and a strong Christian faith. These lessons took root and have been passed on the next generation of grandchildren who continue Julia’s legacy. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 with a Prayer Service officiated by Brother Jay Miller of River Road Baptist Church beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Heritage Chapel, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, at River Road Baptist Church, 12712 FM 969, Austin, Texas. Prior to the funeral service, from 10:30 – 12:30 there will be additional visitation at the church. Burial will be at Austin Memorial Park following the Funeral Service.
