Raúl Lopez Castillo, resident of Austin, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 7, 2015. Recitation of Holy Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, at San Jose Catholic Church,2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas. Father John Boiko officiating, Burial will follow to Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas. Raúl L. Castillo was born on May 6, 1921, to Joaquin and Refugia Castillo, in Maxwell, TX. He met the love of his life, Paula Serrano Castillo, married, and moved to Austin, to raise their growing family. Raul worked for the Austin Independent School District in maintenance and custodial work. He loved providing for his family and being surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joaquin Castillo and Refugia Lopez, two sons; Abel Castillo Sr., and Jerry Castillo. He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Paula Serrano Castillo, seven children; Mercedes Gonzales (Arthur), Louisa Ruiz, Raul Castillo, Jr., Rosa Arroyo, Rudy Castillo, Carlos Castillo, Abel Castillo Jr. 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren.
