Obituary of Valerie Godoy
Please share a memory of Valerie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Valerie Louise Godoy. April 24, 1978 - June 15, 2012 Valerie left us this week at the age of 34. From baseball as a child, to theatre in high school, to music, movies, and food as an adult, Valerie threw herself into her passions with dedication and joy. She attended Bowie High School in Austin and Peter Kump's New York Cooking School afterwards. Her work was her life since then, and her time at Thundercloud Subs, The Palm restaurant in New York, and the Alamo Drafthouse gave her happiness, challenges, and a sense of accomplishment. Valerie was good at what she did and her drive and work ethic were her most marked characteristics. Funny and sharp, Valerie had a personality that made friends and that made you love her. While she is gone too soon, her family trusts that she has at last been able to gain some peace.
Valerie is survived by her mother and father, Barbara and Vincent Godoy; her sister and brother-in-law, Amy Godoy and Peter Partheymuller; her nephew, Charlie Partheymuller; and her grandmothers, Lola Lopez and Delfina Godoy.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Vicente Godoy and Johnnie Lopez.
