Joe Louis Garcia 1964-2012 Joe Louis Garcia, affectionally known to friends and family as ?Meco?, was born in Austin, Texas on August 1, 1964 and went to be with the Lord and Savior on May 15, 2012. Meco is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Delta Garcia; daughters Desiree Garcia and Savannah Garcia; son Joe ?Joey? Louis Garcia Jr.; mother Elizabeth Garcia; sisters Jeanette Gonzales, Diana Garcia, and Deborah Dugger ; brother Robert ?Bobby? Garcia Jr.. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Garcia Sr. and his beloved faithful family pet of 18 years Smokey Garcia. Along with the many friends and family who will miss Joe, he will especially be missed by his 12 nieces and nephews who loved their ?Uncle Meco?. Serving as pallbearers will be Louis Limon, Zac Buentello, Alfred Gonzales, Chris Alvarado, Harvey Ferrera, David Maldonado, Freddie Rodriguez, and Hector Mecado. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Punit Chadha and the staff of Texas Oncology. A celebration service of Joe?s life will be held this Friday evening, May 18th, at Christian Life Center, 4700 West Gate Blvd. Austin, Texas 78745, The service will start at 7:30 PM. A visitation will begin Saturday morning, May 19th at 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South),with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
