David Lopez 1948-2012Our beloved David Lopez, age 63, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father Juan A. Lopez; mother Margarita Lopez; brother Tomas Lopez, Sr. and brother-in-law John Cantu. Mr. Lopez is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Mary Lopez; daughters Dawn Theresa Lopez of Riverside, CA., Renee Marie Smith (Kurt) of Moreno Valley, CA., Stephanie Michelle Lopez of Austin, TX., and Vanessa Elaine Hernandez of Riverside, CA.,; son Robert Anaya Lopez of Riverside, CA.; grandchildren Victoria Lyn Smith; Micah Lopez, Luke Christian Smith; sisters Cindy Marley (Herb), Cecilia Morris (Richard), Mary Alice Cantu; brother Roberto ?Bob? Lopez (Mary) of South Carolina; sister-in-law Herminia Lopez. David served his country for 10 yrs. with the U. S. Marine Corps. from 67-77 and was awarded the Silver Star during his service. He served as a peace officer for Travis County Sheriff?s Ofc., Rollingwood P. D., Travis County Constable?s Ofc. Pct. 3 & 4, and Westlake Hills P. D. Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
