Daniel ?Dan? Gamez Dan Gamez, 66 of Austin, born on January 14, 1945 was called to our Heavenly Father on June 13, 2011. Dan was a loving Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin & friend that will be forever in our hearts. Dan was married to the love of his life Cecilia Sanchez Gamez on November 3, 1972, together they have 4 children. Dan was a Vietnam veteran that proudly served his country. Dan was an entrepreneur that owned many businesses and was currently employed with First Transit (The University of Texas Transit System) for 23 years. Dan was a dedicated employee & supervisor that loved his job. Dan is preceded in death by his mother Celia Gil Sanchez, fathers Pedro Gamez & Pedro Sanchez; brother Raymond Gamez; grandson Daniel Hernandez Jr; mother-in-law Felipa Limon Sanchez & sister in law Felissa Ann Sanchez. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Cecilia; son Daniel Gamez Jr & Elizabeth; John Pete Gamez; daughter Jeanette Michelle Gamez; Danielle Gamez Chapa & Victor; Cecilia ?Cissy? Gamez Roberts & Shane; son Eugenio ?Gino? Gamez & Liana, daughter Gabrielle Singh & Amrit; sister Sarah Mercado; brother Jimmy Mercado & Carol; sister Yolanda Taylor & George; Brother in laws Eugenio Sanchez & Peggy; Roger Sanchez & Maria; Rudy Sanchez & Rebecca; Trinidad Estrada & Marcelo Ysaguirre; Ramiro Estrada; sister in law Elizabeth Tijerina & Richard; 27 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; Joseph DeLaCruz & Mary; and 3 godchildren. Visitation for Mr. Gamez will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, with Recitation of Holy Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m., at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mass of Christian burial 10:00 a.m., Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church 10,000 David Moore Road. This will conclude services for Mr. Gamez.
