Raymond Renteria Coronado, Sr. Our beloved Raymond Renteria Coronado Sr., of Austin, Texas passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at the age of 90.
Raymond was born on September 1, 1920 in Austin, Texas. On September 16, 1939, he married Minnie Macias. They were married for 71 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tommie Coronado Loera.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
Raymond served in the US Army in World War II and served his time in Germany. He was wounded in World War II and was the recipient of the purple heart.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Macias Coronado, Raymond and Dolores, Larry and Mary, Jesse and Alice, Janie and Gilbert Martinez, Edward, Mary Ann and Daniel Gomez and son-in-law Joe Loera. He will be missed by his 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
Rosary service will be held at Mission Funeral Serenity Chapel on Monday, January 31st at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 1st at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Gilbert Martinez Jr., Larry Coronado, Jr., Eric Coronado, Erron Coronado, Eric Loera and Michael Coronado. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the medical staff at Brackenridge Hospital for their care and support.
