Salvador DeHoyos Reyna 1941-2010 Our beloved Salvador DeHoyos Reyna, age 69 resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 after a short but hard fought battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Salvador was a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend to all. He worked in construction for 40 years and loved hunting, fishing and watching football. He is going to be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Reyna was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosie Reyna; father Salvador Reyna Sr.; mother Consuelo Reyna; sisters Esther Cermeno; brother Rudy Reyna.
He is survived by children Audrey Reyna, Paul Phillip (Suzanna) Reyna, Stella Zapata, Steve Zapata and Marshall Fabela; grandchildren Francesca Reyna, Issac Salvador Reyna, Xavier, Cory, Zachary and Steven Zapata; sisters Lucy Guerrero and Jane Estrada (Nena); numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Punte Chadda and all his staff; the infusion nurses; Christopher House and all of the staff. Also a special thank you to all who helped care for him during his illness.
Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Barron, James Alba, Oscar Guerrero, Gordon Muench, Jonathan Young, Arik Montejo.
