Our beloved Charles (Charlie) Sanchez Rodriguez, age 58, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on October 24, 2000. Charles was a kind loving husband, father and grandfather. He always helped everyone in need. Every one knew Charlie. He served proudly in the United States Army. He had a passion for all sports and played them well. Charlie was always involved in sports. He played basketball for the Salvation Army in the mid 1950?s. Also playing baseball and softball for many years with family and friends. Survivors include wife Patricia Ira Rodriguez; 2 children, Dea Hamble and husband David, John Carlos Rodriguez and wife Missy; grandchildren Zach Hunter Rodriguez, David Dwayne Hamble III, Charly Patricia Hamble, and Amanda Adkins; Father, Charles Rodriguez; siblings, Alex Rodriguez, Leroy Rodriguez and wife Esther, Annie Guajardo and husband Willie, Delores Sanchez. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank John and Anna from Hospice who gave loving care and help to Charlie. To all of the Physicians, friends and other family members for the loving care received. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Sanchez Rodriguez and grandson, John Isaiah Rodriguez. Recitation of rosary Thursday, 7:00pm TIME at the Mission Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, 2pm at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate.
