Araceli Juanita Martinez Cartledge, age 59, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Formally of Hebbronville, Texas, Araceli was born on September 16, 1950 in Laredo, Texas. At the age of seven (7) she moved to Austin, Texas with her family to attend the Texas School for the Deaf.
Araceli was preceded in death by her father, Ramiro Martinez and one brother.
Araceli is survived by daughter, Sally and husband Joe Sifuentez; mother Mrs. Santos Y. Martinez; sisters Ana and husband Michael Jackoskie, Patsy and husband Bill Hoagland all of Austin; brother, Ramiro Martinez, Jr. and wife Carol of San Marcos; grandson Jose Ramiro Sifuentez; niece Susan Hoagland; nephews Billy Hoagland, Joseph Jackoskie and Trevor Martinez; aunts Miss Antonia Ybanez of Hebbronville, Mrs. Aida Y. Ramos of Austin and Mrs. Olga and Fernando Ramirez of Hebbronville; Uncle Raymundo Martinez of Alice and numerous relatives from all over the United States.
Araceli attended and graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf. She worked at First State Bank and retired after 16 years with the bank.
Rosary will be Friday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church 10, 000 David Moore Road with Rev. James R. Martin, C.S.C. officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
