Our beloved Mr. Joel Sontoya Castilleja, age 37, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 18, 2000. Survivors include daughters, Melanie and Valerie Castilleja; son, Luis Angel Castilleja. Mother, Adelaide Contreras; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Heliodoro Sontoya, Paternal grandparent Mr. Pedro Castilleja; grand-daughters, Alize Marie Castro and Tatyana Renee Castilleja Rivera; sisters, Lisa and Angela Castilleja, Bonita Gonzales all of Austin; brothers, Adam S. Castilleja of Minnesota, Albert Castilleja, Jose, and Jesus Irineo Contreras of Austin; godparents Jimmy and Minga Salinas of Austin; Aunts, Linda Cordova, Patsy Cardenas, Minga Salinas; uncles, Rudy, and Lee Sontoya and Frank Castilleja, Sr. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Pete Castilleja, Jr., Visitation will commence Wednesday September 20, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Recitation of rosary Wednesday, 7:30pm at the Mission Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
