Wilmer "Gene" Herring, born 11-11-34 in Grosebeck, Texas, passed away Febuary 15, 2010 in Austin.He is survuved by his wife Janice Y. Herring, a sister Betty Bell, a brother Glen R. Herring and wife Karen, 8 children, Diana Lynn, Jim Herring and wife Cindy, T.J. King and wife Georgia, Melody Gray and husband Rodney,Robert S. King, Debra Perry and husband Gary, Melinda Bryant and husband Edward, Barbara Kirkley and husband William, 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Gene proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. He found his civilian niche as a security guard in U.T.P.D. for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and helping friends and neighbors. He loved his family.
