Rev. Pedro (Pete) Montoya Sr. December 14, 1924 January 5, 2010 Rev. Pedro (Pete) Montoya Sr, age 85, resident of Austin, was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Rev. Montoya's calling to serve the Lord began when he served as a Deacon for eight years and then he became the Pastor of Templo Bethel Pentecostes of Austin for 34 years. Rev. Montoya was very active in his church organization and in the community. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers. Rev. Montoya is survived by his loving wife of 19 years Rebecca Martinez Montoya; 12 children Pete Montoya Jr., Rudy (Stella) Montoya, Jack (Alice) Montoya of Austin, Margie (Jacinto) Castillo of Georgetown, Angelita (Miguel) Escamilla of Weslaco, Samuel (Melba) Montoya of San Marcos, Antonia (David) Escamilla of El Paso, Felix (Vondell) Montoya of Missiouri City, Robert Cantu of Austin, Cheryl (Joe) Mireles of Fort Worth, David (Yvette) Cantu of McAllen and Becky Lynn Cantu of San Antonio; 34 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Prayer Service 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks cemetery in Pflugerville.
