Nicolasa ?Nico? Flores Alvarez ?Well done, good and faithful servant? Enter into the joy of your Lord. Matthew 25:23 Our beloved Nicolasa ?Nico? Flores Alvarez, born September 10, 1920 was called home by her Heavenly Father on December 3, 2009 at the age of 89. She died peacefully surrounded by her family, after a short illness. Mrs. Alvarez was preceded in death by her husband Amador Alvarez Sr. She is survived by her sons Richard and wife Mary Louise, George and wife Lydia, Willie and wife Virginia, Gilbert and wife Linda, Amador Jr. and wife Margaret and Rudy and wife Yolanda all of Austin; sisters Manuela Castilleja, Miquela Perez, Manuela Flores Lerma; brothers Silvestre Flores and Juan Flores; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Nico devoted her life to the loving care and nurturing of her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her sons grow up as baseball players. She cheered for their teams at every game and became very knowledgeable about the game itself. She enjoyed her plants and playing bingo. She was a longtime member of San Jose Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanas. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Adam, Gregg, Michael, Mark ,Dennis, Geoffrey, Tony, Jon and Rene Alvarez. Recitation of Holy Rosary 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mass of Christian burial 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
