Bentura (Ben) Sosa Jr. September 22, 1940 ? November 7, 2009Our beloved Bentura (Ben) Sosa Jr., age 69, resident of Del Valle, was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 7, 2009.
He is survived by his loving wife Antonia L. Sosa; children Anna Sosa Rohon and husband Kevin, Dianne Sosa Ruiz and husband Ben, Brenda Sosa Ortiz and husband John, Bentura Sosa III (Benny) and wife Patricia; 17 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and sister Mary Inez Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by son Paul Sosa; daughter Melinda Sosa; parents Hilda R. Sosa and Bentura Sosa Sr.; brothers Tommy Sosa, Eugene Sosa, Arthur Sosa and Albert Sosa.
Recitation of Holy Rosary 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mass of Christian burial 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at San Jose Catholic Church Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Ortiz, Ben Ruiz, Roy Hernandez Jr., Robert Ruiz, Jonathon Monreal, Adrian Estrada, Mike Knutson and Arthur Estrada Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Trotter and Arthur Estrada III.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the South Austin Medical Center for their care and compassion, especially Pam Elam.
